sabbatical week was quite nice. :))
bicycling was fun! :D was quite worried at first since i just learn how to ride a bicycle. :/ but after the whole course, my skills of bicycling improved! hahah. :)
pulau ubin trip was really fun and challenging (for me lah) esp at the end because i was very tired and hungry. hahah. i hate the upslopes! but i totally love the downslopes man! the feeling of the wind on your face u can just use 2 words to describe. COOL MAN! hahahah. :D I was very satisfied to complete the whole course smoothly. though i didnt do very well at first. :)
orienteering was generally ok.. though the fieldtrip was kind of a waste of time. i like the model making session. :D and the orienteering we planned ourselves! so fun! :D
Sat. taking of report books. I'm quite satisfied with my results. hope i can maintain the standard (because my semester 2 results will always pull my results down) and
as usual, what the form tr say was: Shuli needs to improve on her english. Read more books and newspapers. hahaha. But i know that studying does not make up my whole life. :) so i must learn not to take my grades and results
that seriously. then i will be happier. hahah. :D
I'm trying hard to stuff more guides knowledge, WAGGGS and UN info into my brain now. but they dont seem to get in. :/ so goodluck to myself tmr.

Last Sat and Sun were tiring, busy but fun, meaningful and GREAT as well! :D
because I spent my 2 days doing cip. Sat was flag day and today was bom cip which we helped out at the SINDA's volunteers' tea. :)
Flag DayMy dad fetched yiling and I to newton mrt. I must really say sorry to minxuan! :/ I should have called you to confirm.
And so yiling, renice, minxuan, lifern and I went to raffles place, hoping to see lots of people there. But it turned out to be quite "
empty". More people came after that but they were all either here to exercise so no wallets with them or tourists with tourguides or no singapore dollars (though i'm not very sure if that's true. :/)
Thus, we decided to go to dhoby gaut. There was more people there and they were quite generous.
It's interesting to see how different people react.
And it's really nice to see people coming to donate with so much initiative or hear people asking more about the association we are helping.
I think it's just amazing to see those people like workers, cleaners or those who look like they do not come from a well-to-do family donating even before I ask. :D
The feeling of your tin getting heavier is really satisfactory after so much of "hello. Would you like to donate some? Thank you." I was smiling until my jaw was kinda stiff. hahah.
But I do not blame or feel unhappy about those people who ignored us or did not donate because I do that too, sometimes. :S But now I realised that showing some reaction that you do not want to donate like shaking your head is much better than dao-ing the people. hahha.
So finally, 1pm came! After returning the tins, we went jp to have lunch and just shopped around. Oh. and we say some freaky people with like so many rings and sticks on their lips. disgusting. :/
SINDA Volunteers' TeaI must say that this cip is the coolest and most interesting and special one I have ever had! fyi, it is for my bom cip. So we are supposed to go to suntec city convention center for this SINDA volunteers' tea. And all the volunteers were all so formally dressed, except us because mrs chitra just want us to wear hongzi. SINDA is Singapore Indian Development Association. Thus, the guests of this events are all indians. The guest of honour was mr teo chee hean and some other ministers as well.
We were supposed to reach around 3 hours earlier. There was a briefing and then we were all split into various groups of various duties. And guess what? I'm going to look after 8 children from a table! And i can't believe how big the place is. The whole hall is made up of 3 convention halls! with approx 300 tables (those round ones which have 10 seats) and 7 screens (Those projectors one but much bigger!). The whole area was HUGE lah. and COLD. There was around 300 children. My duty was just to look after them, make sure they dont go running around, bring them down to the LOONG red carpet, line them up, have them holding light sticks, welcoming the GOH and bring them back. Ohman. they are quite difficult to control can. oh. and 1 other VERY IMPORTANT DUTY is bringing them to the toilets! hahahah. But they are generally quite ok.
After welcoming of GOH, there was some performance and prize giving for those volunteers who had served SINDA for a long time which was the whole point of the tea. I can say that the place is so huge that how noisy the children were at the back, the people in front on stage will never hear that! hahaha. so the person-in-charge just tell us that they can make noise. hahah.
Finally, it was time for food since its a tea! but there was so much food that it can be dinner lah! The children have dishes served to them. I see already also feel like eating! hahah. And this is the first time i feel like a waitress trying to serve them food. hhahah. The adults have buffet!!! And there was around 8 sets of such buffets around the whole hall. They all over-order lor. There was so many leftovers. So after the whole thing end, we just walk around eating! hahah. the food is really nice! the waitresses there still ask us whether we want to drink anything. In the end, we all just sat on one table and eat. hahahah. :D
Well, i feel that this cip is very special, as in i dont think we'll have any of such cip again. It's not those helping the old folks and children which are kinda meaningful (and that is we really HELP them instead of creating more problems). This time we get to see and feel how hard it is to organise such a big event, as well as an eye opener to all of us, to see how a formal event runs...
Im still kinda amazed by the number of people and size of the hall. ok. maybe im just too "sua ku".

It's interesting to hear how mdm. tan link chemistry to life! :D even when teaching acids and bases. HAHAHA. :P I kind of enjoy chemistry lessons. :) I still (only) rmb the 加拿大美女! hahaha.

today, we had a talk by U.K. Shyam, singapore's 100m record-holder.
well, the talk was ok... maybe just some thoughts. :)
I personally think that i will not join track and field (or other sports CCA), other than the fact that I can't run, jump or throw and i can't do sports :/ is because I feel that track and field is very "individual" and competitive. I don't like that feeling. hahaha.
yes, i agree that it is a challenge of your own limits and how you can push yourself to acheive something. But i think that it will kinda give me a lot of pressure. that's why I hate going for competitions. hhahah. :D I'll keep thinking. what if i do badly? but i want to do well. i'm representing my cca, my school. ESPECIALLY when you are from nanyang!
people tend to have this feeling that nanyang should do very well in every aspect and competition. that's what happen when I went for a particular competition for guides and we didnt get anything. :( you will still feel bad even if you get lots of encouragements from your friends. I guess maybe people who can take things in their stride will do better.
that's what I'll need to learn! :D
because competitions are essential in life, especially in singapore. hahaha. :P

HELLO!
These 2 days were fun! :)
I totally love the long weekends. :D
Yesterday was csm. I was going around selling ice-cream with yiling (THANKS! :D) and sophia. hahah. But we sold only 20 ice-cream, when we were supposed to sell 60. I think it's because we were in the second shift so a lot of them had bought. hahaha. But yiling helped a lot by persuading her co seniors, juniors to buy. :D
csm ended quite early. So we were all trying to look for elaine to give her her birthday present!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELAINE! :DYou better bring that hairband on monday! HAHAHAH. :P
And after deciding for a very very long time on where to go, quekie, yiling, renice, yujie, minxuan, penny and I finally decided to go to yujies house to watch some movies! We rented 50firstdates and cello! Must thank yujie's parents for giving us so much food!
We had a fun time laughing and screaming! hahaha. Luckily cello wasn't that scary. hahah. If not, we will all be deaf (because of quekie's, minxuan's and renice's screams!) hahahah. :P
We watched some parts of e mo zai shen bian. And i think you can predict how renice will react during the show huh. :P hahaha. Yiling and quekie were watching ai qing mo fa shi on youtube instead.
Went home at around 5.30. It has been quite a long time since we can meet up (though some couldn't make it) and talk, laugh, watch movies and have fun! I really enjoyed myself! :D hahah. And minxuan can 'suan' quekie very well, i realised. :D
Today, I went out again. I went cycling with my family and cousins. Actually wanted to ask the rest if they want to go, but quekie coudn't make it, and i think renice would not come too, and then everyone will not go, so i decided not to. hahahah.
My father went fishing, as usual. He love fishing lah, I don't know why! hahah. Then the 8 of us went to rent our bicycles! 2 hours and get 1 hour free. I wasn't very good with it at first but got better afterwards. Had a nice time trying to cycle up the slopes (which is very tiring! hahah) and down the slopes, feeling the wind against your face. Very cooling too at we went there early in the morning. Can you imagine I woke up at 7 when it's a holiday! hahaha. so unlike me. Normally, i'll wake up at 9 plus. hahah. because my aunt do not have a car, so my father drove a pick-up and we all sat behind! (I don't know if it's legal a not. ahahah.) Our hair were all flying all over lah. IT'S REAL WINDY! And guess what, on the way home, it rained! So I was kinda drenced but luckily it stoped quite fast. hahah. :)
Had a great time these 2 days. Hope that it will be the same for the next 2 days though I'll need to finish my homework. hahah. zzc lah, give us what yingyongwen!
But life is not only about studying, results and grades. It's MORE than that! :D

I realized that I do not understand myself very well.
I realized that my character is very contradicting.
I realized that I can be a very different person at home.
I realized that irony is a big word which happens everywhere, everytime, everyhow.
I realized that one tends to think a lot when alone.
I realized that I regretted some of my decisions but chose to ignore it.
I realised that I have wonderful friends.
I realized that there is still a lot in life yet to be realised.
Because life is about realizing.
Realizing about yourself.
Realizing about others.
Realizing things.
And realizing your dreams...
