I've decided to blog about think tank 2006. :D
At the beginning, I totally hate think tank because it was the day before that horrible friday which thus ruins my plan of chiong-ing my chemistry and geography.
But after I attended it, I felt that it was a fruitful event.
I learnt a lot from the session.
mdm mak and mrs chek were friendly and nice.
So we
complained quite a lot. :P
Like the IP programme and the never-ending, everlasting SIAs...
CCA, Food and funfair sale of coupons.. etc.
I realised sometimes we tend to think too much.
One example was the guzheng.
their cca was on saturday. and sharon mentioned that she heard her friend from guzheng saying that it may be because co is a much "older" cca so they had to let co use the music rooms first, causing them to have their cca on saturday. so the school will respect co more. in the end, mrs chek explained that the reason is simply because their instructor or teacher is only free at saturday!
then mdm mak asked a few questions.
what is the colour of co costumes?
blue.... and black.
what is the colour of guzheng costume?
blue and purple.
which one looks more expensive and of a better quality?
silence........ followed by some giggling.
hahahah. everyone know that the answer is guzheng please.
conclusion: we should not think so deeply. think simple and you will be happier! :D but don't be too gullible also lah.
then another one was the ip vs o level.
do you feel that the ip students are more taken care of than the olevel students?
well.. actually i think so.
but i think we also cannot help it. the school is made up of more ip students than olevel students. but maybe we can be more considerate towards them. :)
another issue we discussed for quite a long time was school spirit.
do you think nanyang lack school spirit?
actually i think we are still ok though a lot of the rest said we do lack school spirit. especially when we compare ourselves to the raffles family.
but i have this sense of belonging to nanyang actually. :D i think a lot of us have.
but in the first place how do you define school spirit?
alot of us love our class, love our cca but not our school.
but then isn't the school made up of us people?
you can't possibly like the school building isn't it? hahaha.
then the counsellors asked us if the house system will help.
personally, i don't really like the house system. i think that its kind of extra. it is just dividing the school into different groups again.
in addition there will be more work. inter-house games, inter-house meetings. maybe there will be another sports day too. hahah.
and mdm mak mentioned that we cannot possible have the same house names qin shen duan pu as nanyang pri right? hahaha.
overall, i like the think tank session though at first not many people wants to talk. hahah. and i realised that there are actually a lot of people who cares a lot for the school! :D
